Tour de Fat was so much fun and thanks to all the generous folks that came and rode in the bike parade and participated in festivities- 61 children will receive a shiny new bicycle this Christmas!
The rain held off and the Rhymanese twins kicked off the fun with a bell chimin’ rhyme that got everyone hyped up to cruise the streets of Durham and then head back to Diamond View Park at the American Tobacco Campus. Both young and old dressed up in costume and brought their bikes out for a bike parade. About 1000 riders came out and made donations and received limited edition Tour de Fat swag- new this year were sunglasses that were super cool along with bike lights and license plates.
Tour de Fat is prided on bicycle advocacy and each town that they visit all the proceeds benefit local charities so all the money stays right here in our market! Triangle Spokes Group is so thankful for their support again this year and their continued help in Pedaling Joy to the children in the Triangle. Thank you to all the volunteers that made the day possible! Countdown is on to next years fun!!
